The SRDMH has the mandate to develop a documentation center that encompasses all categories of Haitian and West Indian music. Hosted by the University of Montreal's World Music Research Laboratory (LRMM) since October 2012, this collection of scores, monographs and soundtracks is the most varied to date.  Elle  consists of more than 5000 titles including a large number of classical music scores from Haiti and Cuba.

The SRDMH participates in the ongoing effort undertaken by Claude Dauphin and the LRMM to digitize the collection.

 

The scores, texts, photos or recordings in the collection come from the SRDMH's own activities since 1977, and from donations from individuals in Haiti and elsewhere.

 

In addition to keeping and allowing consultation of these titles on site, the SRDMH can produce copies  (of scores for example) in order to allow the dissemination of Haitian music as part of its mission. . The applicable fees for these orders cover the cost of copying, labor and shipping. The SRDMH est a non-profit association .
